When life gives you lemons.....

Long time no post, right? It's entirely my fault. And I am super sorry!! Unfortunately, last Tuesday I found out that as of the end of this week my job is no more. And my department is no more...soo...my lack of posting can be explained through trying to get my head around that. Luckily for L, they moved her to another department last month but Sarah (our workmate mentioned here) and I are now jobless. Neither of us are super lucky...so if you see two new girls at a jobcentre in the next few weeks it might just be us. woop.

Cheery posts will resume soon,
Layla

the holford detox diet in hindsight

I don't know about you, but every time I embark upon a detox diet I probably build it up to be much more than it is. I have day dreams about the end and the brand new purer body I will then have...and then I do complete the detox and, well, things are pretty much the same.

That can be said of this diet in our household. It has benefitted Em hugely and she plans to carry on taking milk thistle under the supervision of her nutritionist but I can't say it's something that Layla or myself have noticed a huge difference from. In fact, we were feeling really awful towards the end of it.

It's well worth a go, under supervision of course, but perhaps it's better if it is actually recommended by your health practitioner.

day 9!!!

Finally, we have made it!!! Still feeling a bit snappy but we're so relieved that we can have some meat and our beloved goats cheese!! ooh, and fried eggs. yuuuuuuuum.

so...how are we feeling other than snappy, low motivation and okish energy levels....erm....pretty much the same. The high point really was during mid-diet. It feels like the whole thing lasted too long for us.

did you do it? how did you get along? did you notice any differences?

day 8

No change, really craving meat today. We don't eat that much as it is and we could all do with some home made kebab or even slow roasted lamb. We're sorry to all the vegetarians and vegans reading this, we really are. But this craving is massive.

energy levels have been ok, but we have been soo snappy and our motivation levels have been way down. Janet doesn't understand why, she's chalking it up to the fact that our diets are restrictive as it is.

Phooey.

day 7

we all woke up feeling fine but today was the first day that we all felt really hungry. we cut back on the exercise and ate a bit more but it felt like something was lacking. Em's energy levels weren't as stable today. All foods were egg based today.

Hopefully we'll have better luck tomorrow!
