Medicine Flower Extracts Review; Coffee & Hazelnut 15 ml

These flavour extracts come from US company Medicine Flower and are stocked for the UK and EU by Raw Living for £18.25 each (+p&p).

They are all natural, gluten-free and organic, and they are cold-processed "using extraction without the use of any colorants, fillers, diluting agents or preservatives". Not to mention the fact that all of the extracts are from wildcrafted or sustainable sources. For any raw foodies reading, they are indeed safe having not been heated. However the flavours apricot, lemon, orange and rum are developed using ethanol extraction, which might leave approximately a 5% residual of ethanol.

Super concentrated, all you need is 1-5 drops (although we usually add 2 drops) to flavour your food. None of us can drink coffee, so the coffee extract is very popular amongst us! We add 2 drops to a cup of hot water, with 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon. Yum.

The flavours on offer aren't your run of the mill extracts (although there are a few in there) and are well worth buying (the moment we become billionaires we will buy the whole back catalogue). The white chocolate one is calling me right now. But less about that and more about the 2 products we're meant to be reviewing!

As we've mentioned; the coffee extract is a HIT! so yummy and smooth. We've used it in homemade chocolates, icing, cooked and raw desserts and it is delicious! A little bit goes along way.

The hazelnut extract is a little trickier, when added to hot drinks it leaves a chemical-y taste (it really is the only way to describe it), in baked goods it's great and when added to raw desserts that need to set the
flavour is true hazelnut.

All in all, we'd say that they are worth the pricetag but the coffee extract is a surefire 10/10 whereas the hazelnut extract requires a little work and because of that it's got to be an 8/10.

So, that's it from us for today - we've missed you guys!!
Hope you've had a lovely day!
